Brent oil price in euros per litre
Crude oil is the largest part of the fuel price before taxes. Here it is in euros per litre, on the same chart as Spanish pump prices.
Brent in € per litre and pump prices in Spain
A litre of crude is not a litre of fuel: refining, transport, storage, the station's margin and taxes come on top.

How we calculate
A barrel holds 158.99 litres. The price in dollars per barrel is divided by 158.99 and converted to euros at the ECB reference rate of the same day (or the last one before it).
Pump prices follow wholesale fuel prices, which follow crude with a delay: studies of Spain found about half of a change reaching the pump within a week and most of it within ten weeks.
